My Photographic Interests
Here are a few of my favorite photos, a handful of snaps that I have taken over the years that reflect my interests. If you like these, be sure to explore my galleries. If there is a photo you want taken in my area, contact me.
Black Canyon Surprise
This was taken during my second trip to the Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park in Colorado, October 2024. At 1:00 am the park was empty, and I was walking the paths around the canyon. On impulse I stopped to take this photo and it became one of my favorites. My interest in this type of photography is the inspiration for the "Astrono" in our name.
Careful Hop
A mating pair of bald eagles started appearing in a park near my home, and their presence motivated me to purchase a good camera and get serious about photography. A couple of years later, while walking my pups through the park, we ran into that pair's 2023 eaglet, recently fledged from the nest. My interest in eagles and other hunting birds is the inspiration for the "BOP" in our name -
Birds of Prey.
North Lake Memories
I have long found that photos can bring forth strong emotions and lasting memories. This is a photo of North Lake, off State Highway 12, in southern Colorado. I was recreating a photo I took when visiting the area with my late Mother in 2006.
